He tried to postpone this as long as possible, until eventually teeth and molars broke off by themselves. When deciding to undergo an All-on-4 treatment, we first schedule a consultation. During this consultation we make digital scans of your teeth. Based on these scans, the implantologist determines where the 4 implants (All-on-4) should be placed. During the intake interview, we listen carefully to your wishes and take them into account. For example, we discuss your preference for tooth color (natural, white, or extra white). In addition, you can have the shape and position of the All-on-4 teeth completely adjusted to your wishes.
When the consultation has taken place and you have decided to undergo the All-on-4 treatment, we will draw up a treatment plan. If you have teeth that are no longer functional, it is important to have them extracted.
After the teeth have been extracted, the implants are placed directly in the extraction sockets. A temporary bridge is then applied. Because the permanent fixed bridge usually still has to be made in the laboratory, the first bridge is temporary. This temporary bridge can be screwed or cemented. If you opt for a screwed bridge, you have the added advantage that it does not shift. The temporary bridge is made of acrylic, a strong material that allows normal eating.
After the treatment, your teeth will heal, which will take about a month. After this period, new photos will be taken to assess the status of the implants in your mouth. If the healing process has been successful and the implants have grown in well, the permanent bridge will be placed. After that, you can fully enjoy your All-on-4 teeth. People with healthy teeth, or who are missing one or two teeth, are not eligible for the All-on-4 treatment. For them, there are more targeted treatments with one or more implants, crowns and/or bridges.
