In addition to specialist procedures, Fixed Teeth In 1 Day also treats general complaints. By general dentistry we mean, in addition to periodic dental check-ups, teeth whitening, filling cavities and performing root canal treatment. You can count on the best care from experienced dentists and the most modern dental equipment.
Preventive control and diagnosis is an important part of general dentistry.
We look for cavities and look at the condition of the gums.
Teeth can discolor for various reasons. For some this is their natural tooth color, for others the teeth have been damaged by the use of coffee, tea and tobacco. The aging process also contributes to tooth discoloration. In these situations it is sometimes desirable to whiten the teeth. At Fixed Teeth In 1 Day we use special bleaching agents for teeth whitening. The cause of the discoloration determines which method and which substances should be used.
It is also possible to whiten your teeth at home. Our specialists prepare a special 'bleaching spoon'. This custom-made mold fits exactly over your teeth, with a space in between where the whitening gel is applied. Your teeth may become sensitive during treatment, but this is temporary. If you experience too much discomfort, you can report this to one of our dentists at Vast Gebit In 1 Dag.
After a few days to weeks, your teeth will be radiantly white again!
In the event of a cavity, the tooth decay is removed and a filling is placed. This is always white and is adjusted to your own tooth color. After the treatment, the filling hardens quickly so that you can immediately eat and drink again. The filled tooth may still be a bit sensitive for a while, but this will go away on its own.
A filling closes the cavity in a tooth where bacteria can enter and thus contributes to the prevention of tooth decay (cavities). Even when this tooth decay has already set in, the cavities can be filled.
A composite filling looks more natural because the color can be matched to the color of the surrounding teeth. If you need a filling due to tooth decay or an old filling, it will be drilled away first. The dental tissue is roughened so that the composite adheres better. After a layer of glue has been spread on the dental tissue, the filling material is applied, which is finished with a drill after hardening.
Composite is not always suitable for large fillings, as composite fillings are less resistant to wear or cracking in the long term. In addition, a composite filling can discolour due to the use of coffee, tea or tobacco. Composite fillings last an average of three to ten years with good oral care.
A tooth consists of more than the part that you can see, also called the crown. The root of the tooth is anchored in the jawbone. This root contains nerve fibers and small blood vessels in the root canal. The root canal can become inflamed due to tooth decay, a leaking filling or tooth damage due to a fall.
If this is discovered by the dentists of Vast Tebit In 1 Dag, a root canal treatment will be performed.
A root canal treatment is spread over two appointments. During the first appointment, the dentist removes the inflamed dental tissue. This is done under anesthesia. After cleaning the root canal, you will receive a temporary filling, after which the inflammation will disappear.
At your second appointment, the temporary filling will be removed and a permanent filling will be placed in its place.
You can eat and smile to your heart's content again!
